I am not a huge fan of zombies or monsters and certainly not in a realistic portrayal in artwork. And though the monster, himself, is dated, and overdone, the composition of this piece is quite interesting and deserves merit. I am intrigued by the juxtaposition of the monster not enveloped in darkness but in light, the dove/pigeon at the top corner of the painting soaring to freedom while the human/zombie is caged in madness and evil and its victims will achieve no such freedom.
